Mar 22, 2022

The largest and only developed island in Florida's Ten Thousand Islands is Marco Island, which is located about 35 miles from Naples and 45 minutes from the Florida Everglades. The tropical climate and coastline proximity are draws for this Gulf Coast getaway.

Collier Seminole State Park, located about a mile from Marco Island, has camping in tents and primitive facilities, canoeing and fishing, picnic areas, and a one-mile stretch of nature walk that is narrated. On a daily basis, there are boat trips through the park.

The Briggs Nature Center on Marco Island has a half-mile boardwalk where tourists may see wildlife in its natural environment. Sled trips and self-guided canoe excursions are also available.

Marco Island is well known for its shelling, and there are many shops that sell shells and other souvenirs. The beaches are also great for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, and kayaking.

Marco Island is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Florida. There are plenty of things to do on the island itself, as well as in the surrounding area. With its beaches, parks, and nature centers, Marco Island is a perfect vacation spot for those who want to experience the best of what Florida has to offer.
